Connect multi Salesforce Object to single Jira issue

Hi,

I am new to Jira. I would like to create the JIRA issue directly from Salesforce including customer details('Account' object), opportunity details ("Opportunity' object) and product details (Custom object).

I followed the document to setup "Remote Object Link" and "Multi Remote Object Link" custom fields in Jira which lookup to Salesforce "Account" object and "Opportunity" object, but it still not works. I do believe I get stuck on the configuration at "Mapping" and "Mapping Schemes", which make the setting not work.

Can someone walk me thought and solve my problem?

Hi Nicole,

Thank you for contacting ServiceRocket.

Could you provide more details on the matter?
  1. JIRA version
  2. ServiceRocket Core Connector - Plugin .

  4. ServiceRocket Salesforce.com Connector Plugin
  5. JIRA > Manage Add-ons > Screen shot of the 3 plugins above and its version.
  6. Error message - together with the screenshot.
  7. What is your expected results.
  8. Have you made any changes in the Remote Object Link or Multi Remote Object Link? It would be great if you are able to provide us the screen shot for this object's configuration.
  9. Could you provide us the screen shot of the Mapping and Mapping Schemes.

Thank you and regards,

Hi Nicole,

Additional from my previous comment,  there are differences between remote object link and mapping.

Remote Object Link is merely providing a link to the particular information in salesforce.
However, mapping is used to map the fields for creating Account or Opportunities in Salesforce.

From what we understood from your issue, you would like to create Account/Opportunity in Salesforce which can be done through mapping instead of Remote Object Link.

Here's some information that might be helful for you.

Hi Kheng,

I follow your suggestion to create the "Remote Object Link" in Jira and create "Associate Jira Issue" button in SFDC, but it still can't link them together.

in "Remote Object Link" type custom field (or called as Service Description), I had already set the configurations, which look up to remote object type is custom object in SFDC.

Is there anything I setup incorrect so they can't link together?

Hi Nicole,

Can you please clear the template from the  Customfield > Configuration > Body

Make sure that this customfield has been added to your screen. To check that you can proceed to JIRA Project Administration > Screens > Make sure the customfield has been added.

Cheers,
Aidin

Hi Aidin,

This custom field added to the Screen that we want to map, but the issue type is map to Provisioning Main (For Project Creation), which is mapped to Opportunity object, is that the reason this custom field doesn't work?

Or could I have you email so I can send more information to you. Thank you.

Hi Aidin,

Wanna reconfirm I can't map the field is because JIRA does not allow multiple SFDC object map within the sam project issue type, so,

Opportunity Object -> Provisioning Project -> Provisioning Main Issue Type
Custom Object -> Provisioning Project -> Provisioning Main Issue Type

I can only have multiple mappings with different issue types to be associated into a same project, but not multiple mappings in the same issue type?
