Does configuring "Related Jira Issues" view in Salesforce pull all existing Jira issues linked to that Salesforce object?

I'm interested in configuring a "Related Jira Issues" view in Salesforce (as per instructions outlined in https://docs.servicerocket.com/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=6619313), but I have a question -

Will this pull all existing Jira issues linked to that Salesforce object? The reason I ask is because we have close to 100k existing Jira issues that were created from Salesforce, so I don't want to cause too much load on our Jira servers if it's going to be using remote API calls every time the "Related Jira Issues" view is displayed. Will this impact performance?

Or will this only pull in Jira issues created after the "Related Jira Issues" view is configured?

Hello Jennifer,

It would be great if you could provide us with your JIRA version and Connector version.

We have yet to experience any performance issue with the configured "Related JIRA Issues" view.

The "Related JIRA Issues" view will also display associated JIRA issues that were created before the view is configured.

Regards,
Adrien

We're running Jira Server 7.1.6 and connector version 2.0.11. We have a very large Jira instance (over 700k issues).

The thing we're concerned about is that we have close to 200k Jira issues that are linked to a Salesforce object. I'm not sure how many of each are linked to a single Salesforce object, but hypothetically, if "Related Jira issues" displays 10+ issues, could this cause performance problems if multiple people are viewing different Salesforce objects concurrently since the related Jira issues would be displayed by default? Wouldn't this cause hundreds of calls to the Jira server?

Thanks for looking into this,
Jennifer

Hello Jennifer,

Sorry for the delay.

The effect of this to the JIRA server should be minimal but this really differs from user to user.

Just an additional note, the "Related JIRA Issue" view can only display up to 20 associated JIRA issues at the moment. In the case where there is more than 20 associated JIRA issues, only 20 will display.

Regards,
Adrien
