JIRA validation failed! when creating issue from SF object

I am trying to create a Jira issue from the Salesforce screen in Jira.
Steps to replicate:
1. Navigate to Salesforce tab
2. Enter search critera, SF object = Lead
3. Click 'Create Issue'

Actual result: JIRA validation failed! Account is required.
This might be due to missing or incorrect mappings for the mentioned fields.

Account is a mandatory field for all Jira issues. However, I have the screen prepopulated with a Value so a user never has to select.

How do I resolve this issue?

Hi Deana,

Can you please provide a screenshot of Mapping?

Have you set Mapping values for the Account?

Cheers,
Aidin

I haven't set a mapping for Account because Account is an internal code for GL breakout, meaning it does not map over from SalesForce. In my Jira schema/screen, I have Account set to a default value.

Do I need to add a mapping for this field? If yes, how did I get it to be the value that's in Jira since it doesn't exist in SF.

Hi Deana,

If you do not wish to update the Account or map it, you can make it as a required field from Project Administration > Field Configuration.

If the field is optional it will not alarm the validation upon creation of JIRA issues from Salesforce.
