linking plugin link-to print doesn't work

Hello,
I am using the Linking plug in to try to create a link on a page that opens the browser's print dialog.  I thought using {link-to: print...} would work but it just refreshes the page.

Firefox 38.8.0
Linking 3.1.5
Confluence  5.8.18 Data Center

Thanks!

Hi Kathryn,

Thanks for raising this up to us. I've tried replicating this issue, and found out that this function is indeed not usable on Linking 3.1.5 and above, with Confluence 5.6.x and above. The cause for this issue is, Linking tries to search for the a print function on Confluence, whereas Confluence doesn't have such function; instead Confluence relies on the browser's printing function to print a Confluence page. Please look at Atlassian's Documentation on this function :
https://confluence.atlassian.com/conf54/confluence-user-s-guide/sharing-content/printing-confluence-...

I've escalated this issue to our project team, and they'll be removing the "print" option from the "location" parameter. Please utilize the browser's print function to print the Confluence page.

That said, I have a workaround to create a button that allows you to print, but that might require you to use the {html} macro. Let me know if you require a such workaround, and I'll draft it out for you.

Thank you.

Hi Kathryn,

You can check out Atlassian's documentation on how to enable the {html} macro.

Thank you.

Thanks, but our Administrators won't give us access to it.  They think it is a security risk.  We are already in a secured environment with cleared people but they still think it is too big a risk.
