Searching for Cases in JIRA

My Product Owner writes up Release Notes in JIRA on issues that were specifically created from Cases that were pushed from Salesforce. Prior to an upgrade we just completed from the P1 version of the tool, he used to search in Jira for every Story in the Current Sprint where the "Salesforce.com Case Reference Id" is not Null. He did this because not every issue in the Sprint needed Release Notes, only the Stories requested by our users need to be communicated in this fashion

However on the P2 version, this field,"Salesforce.com Case Reference Id", is no longer populated when a Case is Associated to a JIRA. The only association on the record that is shown is in the panel on the right hand side of the screen.

So here is the question.
  • How do you search in JIRA using the standard search functionality to find JIRA issues associated to Salesforce records?

Hello Derrick,

It would be great if you could provide us with the following information:-
  • JIRA and Connector version you are currently using
  • Screenshots of the feature you are referring to

Regards,
Adrien

Hey Adrien,
I am using "JIRA Software" (Jira and Jira Agile together) and its on Atlassian's Cloud.
I have "ServiceRocket Salesforce.com Connector Plugin - Plugin" installed, v 6.0.8-OD.
Previously, the installation instructions for the plugin included instructions on how to create a field called "Salesforce.com Case Reference" that would show Read-Only information from Salesforce if the JIRA had an Application Link to Salesforce. (Example below)

The problem is now the "Salesforce.com Case Reference" field doesnt get populated when a Case is associated with a JIRA issue. Since this field is still Null after the association, it also means there is no way to search for it in JIRA.

I need a way to search for JIRA issues that have associations to Salesforce issues using the current tool.

Hello Derrick,

I'd like to clarify that we currently have two similar products in JIRA Cloud, namely:-
1. ServiceRocket Salesforce.com Connector Plugin - this is now a legacy product, pre-installed in JIRA Cloud. We have stopped selling licenses for this product from the ServiceRocket Marketplace, however, we (together with Atlassian) are still sorting out the process of removing it from JIRA Cloud to avoid potential confusion like this.

2. Salesforce & JIRA Cloud Connector - this is the new product (not pre-installed) for JIRA Cloud. This product's licensing is managed by Atlassian Marketplace. For your reference, the features are found under the 'Salesforce' menu.

From your post, it seems that you are currently using the Salesforce & JIRA Cloud Connector and asking about the search feature that is implemented for the ServiceRocket Salesforce.com Connector Plugin. Correct me if I'm wrong.

In Salesforce & JIRA Cloud Connector, the search functionality to find JIRA issues associated to Salesforce records is not supported at the moment. We already have a feature request for this and have up-voted this on your behalf. The implementation of this feature, however, is fully dependent on feasibility and market demands.

Regards,
Adrien
